City seeks firing of three officers accused of “unjustified shootings”

IPRA, the agency that oversees police shootings, has recommended the termination of three CPD officers accused of unjustified shootings. This is groundbreaking in that most shootings investigated by IPRA over the years were found to be justified. These recommendations mark a turn in how these cases are handled following the national publicity received over the last 15 months in Chicago, resulting in a complete overhaul of IPRA.
