Toyota’s Recalled Vehicles May Remain Dangerous After They are “Fixed”

For months, Toyota has been promising an easy fix to the serious problem of unintended acceleration in millions of its recently recalled vehicles. For months, people have trusted that Toyota could make their cars and trucks safe again.

However, the Associated Press is reporting that more than 100 complaints have already been filed with the government.  The complaints allege that Toyotas which have undergone the manufacturer’s recommended fix are still accelerating.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that it is investigating these allegations. The NHTSA is already confirming several reports of dealers who have incorrectly implemented Toyota’s fix for unintended acceleration.  These incorrect repairs have kept the Toyota cars and trucks dangerous and susceptible to unintended acceleration, unbeknownst to their owners who thought that the problem was fixed and that their vehicles were safe to drive.

If you own a recalled Toyota it is important to remain vigilant to potential problems even after a Toyota dealer has repaired your vehicle.

If you have been hurt in an accident involving a Toyota that unintentionally accelerated then you may be entitled to damages – whether or not your car has been “fixed” by a dealer.  Please contact the Chicago Toyota attorneys of Dolan Law Offices for more information about your rights.
