Personal Injury

The following is a guest post by Boston personal injury attorneys at the Kiley Law Group:

Two days ago, on July 13, 2010, Cook County Judge Donald J. Suriano awarded a $6,250,000 settlement for the benefit of a personal injury victim who suffered severe injuries from a fall.

Luis Vasquez was a roofer for the Knickerbocker Roofing and Paving Co. when he fell through a roof on March 8, 2004 on the premises owned and operated by Metra (also known as the 51st Street Coach House).

Mr. Vasquez was severely injured as he fell through a concrete roofing tile approximately 20 feet to the concrete floor below. He alleged that the contractors for the re-roof project, Walsh Construction Company along with the roofing contractor, Knickerbocker Roofing and Paving Company. CTE, Inc., a.k.a Consoer Townsend Environdyne and Cotter Consulting were jointly responsible for inspection of the panels. Additionally, Defendant Walsh Construction Company was responsible for safety on the job.

In Mr. Vasquez’s case, the Cook County court found the contractors responsible for not properly inspecting the panels which collapsed under Mr. Vasquez causing him to fall, and approved the $6.25M settlement for his benefit to help him cope with his medical bills related to his injuries.

Personal injury victims like Mr. Vasquez, who was represented by excellent lawyers, need the help of experienced injury lawyers to protect them and fight for them.
